Columbia University’s Pathways to Politics: Women Taking the Lead

In January 2020, Jeri designed a pilot course for Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) Executive Education program for women interested in exploring public policy and politics in New York.

Take Office Non-Profit Organization

After the successful Pathways to Politics pilot launched at Columbia University in January 2020, Jeri founded a non-profit organization, Take Office, offering the same accelerated leadership development for accomplished women interested in public policy and politics. Each year, this nonpartisan program creates programs and trains women eager to accelerate pathways to senior roles in public policy and government, including elected office, regardless of previous public policy or political experience.

The Countdown Project + 21 in ‘21 Collaboration

In collaboration with New York City’s 21 in ‘21 organization supporting more women in NYC’s city council, in October 2020 Jeri designed a three day intensive focused on NYC’s recovery from COVID-19 and the community’s response to the crisis.

Panel on Democracy, Illiberalism, and the Contentious Politics of Gender at Columbia SIPA

In November 2022, Jeri was a panelist for a lecture on Democracy, Illiberalism and the Contentious Politics of Gender at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). Fellow panelists included Åsa Regnér (Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Deputy Executive Director of UN Women),
 Flávia Biroli (Professor of Political Science at the Institute of Political Science of the University of Brasília), Florence Haegal (Professor of Political Science at Sciences Po) and Marianna Muravyeva (Law Professor at University of Helsinki).

Guest Speaker at Al Akhawayn University in Morocco as part of the Hillary Clinton Center for Women’s Empowerment Guest Speaker Series

In November 2022, Jeri was invited to lecture on “The Current State of Race and Gender Social Justice Movements in the U.S.” at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco as part of the week long Guest Speaker Series for the Hillary Clinton Center for Empowerment.
